I threw down the challenge on Twitter earlier this week for you to share with me your favorite blog post, that you wrote, in 2008. Got some great responses and more importantly some terrific reading for you over this holiday weekend. In order to make it manageable I’ve chosen the seven that resonated the most for me out of the responses. Enjoy and Happy New Year!

Great idea.
Thanks Todd!
I missed this tweet, so I’ll just hijack things down here in the comments. One thing I wish had gotten more attention in 2008 was the trend with social media for two people to know about each other (following on Twitter, friends on facebook, reading each others blogs) without actually knowing each other (no replies, or wall comments, or blog comments back and forth).
I wrote a short post to give it a name: Bi-directional Parasocial Relationships. (What? That’s not a mouthful.)
Hijack away John, I love it! Great post, thanks for including it on this list.
Thanks Kyle, I appreciate it and great idea. You pointed out some great new blogs to read. Looking forward to more great conversations in ‘09!
Adam, thanks for all the great content in 2008. I’m really looking forward to expanding my reading in 2009 as well, so much out there, a perfect time to introduce new voices.
This is a great list. If you get more, keep ‘em coming.
You got it Tommy!
Kyle – great idea. And thank you for including me in your top 7 list. The good news is that I have a few of the folks you mentioned above in my RSS already but look forward to reading all of these posts again.
BTW, the blogs I sent to you on Hiring 2.0 and Keeping It in a Box were both on my old, Mzinga blog. If anyone wants to see posts after 10/30, they can check out http://blog.stroutmeister.com.
Thanks again and Happy New Year!
Best,

p;.s. I’d love to know what YOUR favorite post that you wrote in 2008 was.
p.p.s. Can’t wait to read @jljohansen’s post on bisexual paranormal relationships.
Aaron, great point on your new blog, good stuff. Although some of the posts on BigPapelbon might have made this list too!
My fave post of ‘08 was actually pretty mundane, but it was the moment I started not to worry about so called ‘authority’ membership back in October. I had just posted my three part social marketing case study and was met with only silence…when I had expected a ton of comments, reactions, money and fame ;). Ever since that moment I actually feel like my writing has been better and I felt terrific about my contributions to my blog and the community…and haven’t worried about the numbers since!
And thanks for putting the keywords “bisexual paranormal relationships” on my blog, I’m hoping Akismet can handle the new spam comments I’m now going to get ;)
Aaron: I’ve really embraced the “Keep Austin Weird” concept.
But maybe I can do it as a guest post on your site? I’ll generously donate the search traffic to your blog for those keywords. ;)
Kyle – can’t wait to go back and read your post you reference above. No problem on adding some great key words to help boost your SEO.
-John, I would LOVE to have you guest post about bi-sexual ghosts on my blog except that I kind of signed an agreement with my company that prohibits it. ;)
This is a great way to find great bloggers and tweets. Great concept Kyle. I enjoyed reading the blog posts above.
@chadhorenfeldt
Thanks Chad! It certainly helped me find some great new bloggers and posts to read.
