Increasing Information Metabolism: Media Snacks

The notion of “media snackers” has been traveling the Internets the past week or so (and I assume prior to that), started by Jeremiah Owyang’s post, who asked the question:

“Do you respect media snackers… folks who consume small bits of information, data or entertainment when, where and how the want. If you want to be part of their lives you’ve got to respect them.”

Jeremiah tagged Connie Benson, who tagged Connie Reece, who tagged Geoff Livingston, who tagged moi.

As I wipe the sleep from my eyes after a Sox sweep in the series I posted my own media snack response below. But first, I’m tagging some of my new favorite bloggers/Twitter friends, David Westcott, Julia Roy, Joe Ciarallo, and Amanda Gravel. My apologies if you’ve been tagged, I tried to do a thorough check, but I’m exhausted after crawling into bed at 3:30am after watching all the post-game!

My media snack, or “Increasing your Information Metabolism” (RSS reader, you may need to click through to listen):

    Funny- you’re one of MY favorite new twitter/blogger friends as well! When I get home from classes I’ll sit down and have a “snack” here at Engage in PR :)

  4. Julia Roy Says:

    I’ve followed your blog for a while now and I almost fell over in my chair when I saw this post. You rock. See you on twitter. :)

  5. Kyle Says:

    @amanda, have a good day at classes, you’ll definitely deserve a snack at that point!

    @julia, thanks so much!

    To you both, can’t believe we haven’t met in person yet, but my schedule has been so messed up with my son’s issues that I missed Podcamp Boston…but soon enough!

    This is very pervasive, I actually listened to this message while driving into SF on my cell phone. I was just ‘browsing’ on the utterz hotline and heard you thank me via my cell.

    I get back home to find you’ve posted this on your blog. Very fascinating circular route of communication.

  7. Kyle Says:

    @jeremiah, that is a terrific example of understanding how people are ‘eating’ this content…where, when, how. And of course how a snack can become a leftover (ok, enough with the analogy). Very cool, thanks for sharing and for stopping by.
